change NIC - Sophos XG starts no Web Admin Console

Hello,

please excuse my bad english because I am not a native speaker.

I run Sophos XG as a virtual machine on a Proxmox-Server. The Sophos XG runs fine (LAN, WAN and WIFI as physical NIC, DMZ as virtual NIC).

Now I want to change the virtual NIC from e1000 to virtio, because virtio drivers are more performant than the other - so I read.

I did these Steps.

1. Shutdown Shophos XG

2. Change the virtual NIC from e1000 to virtio

3. Boot the Sophos

Now I can connect to Sophos on the Console (command line interface) but the Web Admin Console doesn´t start.

How can I change the virtual NIC?

Thank you!

Tony

  • Hi,

I would suspect that the virtio driver is not installed on the XG. There ways to update the drivers, but I am not aware of how it is done other than a rebuild of the XG
