Need Guidance on Apple DEP User Management

Do you need to use Azure AD to be able to have Apple DEP User Management setup/working? I'm not real sure on this screen

Hi Phreeze,

No, Actually it does not even need to be a Microsoft AD. It can be also an x500 directory service of any kind as long as it can be accessed by LDAP.

Additional info: Microsoft AD is also an x500 directory service.

Our security guys are concerned about opening up ports to LDAP for this, is there a way to securely do this? lock to certain IP addresses maybe ?

Hi Bryan,

Yes indeed, to enable the DEP enrollment you basically use both the Intune and Apple DEP portals.
