Passcode restrictions for iOS?

I have pushed out a standard password profile to our iOS devices, but when the user goes to create\change the password they recieve the following error "The passcode must not have repeating characters."

I have not set this repeating rule up in the policy, so I am unsure where it is picking it up from? Has anyone got any ideas on how to remove it?

Thanks

  • Hi MrS,

this could be the case, if you have cleared the "Allow simple value" checkbox within the iOS profile you send out.

Using this setting it is not possible to define passcodes like 1111 oder 1234 on the device as it is considered as a simple value.

Additionally, if an Exchange account is configured on the device the ActiveSync policy applied to the user could also affect the passcode on the device.

    Hope this helps.

    Best regards
