DEP Config with SMC 6.1

hello,

I have enrolled in Apple DEP, we have been approved and linked SMC 6.1 and the DEP website via the required tokens.

i am having issues setting up devices, have been onto apple but they are unable to provide a solution. our mobile supplier has added 2 test devices to our DEP account, i have assigned the devices to our MDM server on the DEP website.

i have forced sync and imported the devices into the customer container in SMC and applied the MDM profile. hard rest the devices and started the activation but i get so far and a message is displayed on both devices as below, on the customer devices it does say the profile has been pushed under the status of the profile deployment.

just wondering if anyone else has ever come across this?

the error\info thats displayed is "The configuration for your iphone could not be download" "The configuration is not available"

    Hi Andrew,

    This issue could be observed, if you try to use the "Assign User" functionality together with DEP and you are using an unpatched SMC 6.1 version.

    There is a patch available for Sophos Mobile Control 6.1 which contains a lot of bug fixes and improvements around DEP. Details about the patch can be found here.

    Please install the patch and check if the issue persists. If so, please open a support request and provide a set of SMC server logs and an iOS device log.

    thanks, i wasn't aware of the updated patch, i only upgraded and patched upto the latest version in july.

     

    this has resolved the problems with my DEV sever, will be applying to the live next week.
