Windows Mobile 1607

Hi,

has anyone tried to add a new device with WM10 1607 to SMC yet, I am having problems in that the new option to add a workplace account does not have the option to enrol in MDM now just a "connect" button which is not finding my SMC server. In the older version you had the option to put in all the info that was given in the enrolment screen on the SMC not those options are not there.

    Yep, I experienced the same issue yesterday and couldn't work it out either. So I used "Windows Device Recovery Tool" to roll the phone back to 8.1. Then upgraded it again to 10 (Build 10.0.105) where the work access option would allow me to enrol it on SMC. 

    I'm not sure if that will help you though.... i think this will only work if the phone is able to be rolled back to 8.1. 

  • Looks to be a known issue, and will be fixed in build 10.0.14393.82 which is released for PC but not for mobile yet, this adds the option to enrol in MDM back again.

    Sophos are also looking to patch V6.1 and will be in V7

  • Hi John,

    with the latest Windows 10 Mobile release there was a change around the enrollment procedure.
    Please install the latest patch available for your installed SMC version (6.0.16 or 6.1.12)  and check if the issue persists.

    These patches include adjusted steps to enroll a Windows 10 device.

    I have installed the patch however in the interim MS have sent out an update to 10.0.14393.187 which adds back in the "enrol only in MDM" this means that the instructions in Sophos may need changing again :-( Though it is now much easier again :-)
