android encryption

we are running the latest version of SMC, just recently when android devices, (Specifically Samsung smart ultra 6) when encryption is enabled on the device SMC is flagging the device as none compliant and stating "Encryption not active: default encryption key is used" i have been unable to find any relevant info relating to this messages as yet, can anyone offer any advise?

  • Hi Andrew,

    most likely the devices do not defined the setting  "Require PIN on startup" . This means that the default encryption key is used for the device instead of a customer one derived from the PIN. Please see this article how to change the setting.
