App Protection pops up constantly

I have App Protection set to protect Chrome. When I'm browsing the web, App Protection pops up constantly, at least once a minute (despite the longer grace period I have set). Following any link is likely to trigger it, but it also sometimes pops up as often as every 30 seconds or less while I'm passively reading a static page! This occasionally happens with other apps too, including Gmail and the Play Store. Can this be solved?

It seems the problem is getting worse, if possible, though it may be my imagination. Irregular intervals, every 10-30 seconds with the Facebook app, every 15 seconds to 4-5 minutes with Chrome, though the grace period is set to 10 minutes. Also if I leave a locked app and come back, even immediately, it's as if the grace period no longer exists. Please help, because this is unacceptable!
