SMC 6.0.5 Enroll Apple device email Install app link not working

When I enroll an Apple device SMC sends an email to the end user with some instructions. When I select Install app link from the device (Option 1) Safari is not able to open the URL. if I open SMC self service portal from the device it works. Any ideas?

To install the app on your mobile device do one of the following:

Option 2: Search for "Sophos Mobile Control" in the device′s app store, download the app and install it.

    Hi Danilo,

    are you maybe using a device which has an iOS version lower 9.3.1?
    Within former iOS versions there was a problem with opening links from applications.

    is an update for your device available?

    you might be right! Those iPad Pro's I handed out today were at verion 9.3 update is available. Let me check this when they are available again.

    The app is not installed correctly. There is no icon on any homescreen. But MDM tells me that this app is installed. It is shown in the iPadPro details under installed applicaitons.
