Andr/SMSSPY-E detected on an Android device by Sophos Security

Installed Sophos Security on Telstra Tough Max Android device. The Sophos Security App have detected and tag 53 files that is infected by Andr/SMSSPY-E.

How can I verify if the detection is not false positive? IS there a way to extract the files from the phone and send it to Sophos to be verified?

Thanks in advance.

  • Hello,

as I can see, this is currently handled as a support request.

  • Please release a general statement at least. I have the same issue and other AV products are saying the device is clean.

Unfortunately the more info link in the threat details ends up in a page not found response.

Is Sophos picking up a real threat that the other products miss or is this a false positive? I am thinking the latter as I have done a factory reset then reinstalled sophos and still get the same threat detected.....
