iOS registration failed

Dear Community,

i am trying to setting up an iOS Devive ( iOS Version 9.21 ) but it didint work.

I am scaning the QR-Code through the sophos mobile control app, the app finds the server, installs the SMC-Protocol on the phone and nothing happend after this. Back in the app - the device is not managed. I set up the APNs certificate and Profiles.

The audit-logging:

- easState='ALLOWED_BY_COMPLIANCE' smeState='ALLOWED_BY_COMPLIANCE' deviceOwner='corporate' nacState='ALLOWED_BY_COMPLIANCE'

-  transitionType='install_profile' name='iOS SSP-Profil (1.0)' status='12' errorCode='0'

-  transitionType='enroll' name='null' status='12' errorCode='0'

- status changed from '12' to '0'

- status changed from '0' to '6'

Android devices are working fine.

Maybe someone can help me.

  • Hi Kevin,

after the enrollment profile is installed the server knows only basic information about the device.

Therefore, it tries to perform a full synchronization of the device by triggering it via the Apple Push Notification Service (APNS).

Once that is done, the enrollment task switches to "Successful" and the device is shown as "Managed".

So maybe the device cannot be triggered via APNS e.g. because the device is in a Wifi?

Please make sure that all necessary ports are opened for the communication are open.

For the list of required ports, please check this knowledgebase article.

If the issue persists I suggest contacting Sophos support for further assistance.

    Best regards

    Stefan
