Android version : 4.1.2
Device brand and model name : Samsung SHV-E160S (Galaxy Note 1)

2.
Sometimes Sophos doesn't scan or detect malware
(Screenshot_2014-06-15-19-13-50-horz.jpg)
after Eicar test file was installed, Clean master detected.
But Sophos was quiet. I think Sophos have problem about real time scan.
(Sometimes scan and detect very quickly... Sometimes quiet)

  • Hello,

first of all thanks for the detailed post and the screenshots to clarify everything.

    1.

The grace period is only ment to work for one "logon session". Once the phone is locked and a pin has to be entered, the grace period is resetted.

    2.

SMSec scans an app during the installation or during a manual/scheduled scan. Currently there is no live detection after installation.

    3.

We are aware of the broken link and are going to fix this in a future release.

    4.

Yes, for every app/file SMSec generates a fingerprint and checks this in our Cloud. This way, there are always the latest malware data available.

    Regards
    Thomas
