Has anyone else had a problem with the SMCSVC service not starting back up again after the out of the box scheduled service re-start between 04:00 and 04:05.

we have seen cases in the past describing a similar issue.
When the service does not start correctly, is it possible a jbosssvc.exe or a java.exe running?
Which version of Sophos Mobile Control are you using?
Does the issue with the server restart occur everyday?

I am using SMC v3.6.1.3
The problem has happened daily since installation and I'm getting round it at the moment by using an extra Scheduled Task to start up the services.
It's possible that the two EXE's are running, but difficult to confirm for definite. They certainly aren't runnng now as I look at the server.

that's strange.
Normally the restart works without any issues. In general a java.exe and jbosssvc.exe process should always be there if the SMC service is running. In the past, we have seen cases where the jbosssvc.exe and java.exe did not stop correctly.
Due to this the restart of the SMC service did not proceed correctly.
If you want to further troubleshoot this, please open a support ticket with our support.
