Protection Password Not Allowing Me Access to Uninstall Sophos Mobile Security - Android

I've been trying for over an hour to get into my settings menu on my Android phone, and I can't because of Sophos' Protection Password (which I setup).  It's stating that my password is incorrect, and when I try to use the "Forgot Password?" option, it asks me for my Loss & Theft password (which I never setup) in order to set a new password.

How can I remove this application, or reset my password, without having to completely wipe my phone?

Please help ASAP. >_<

  • Hi Kyaroru79,

Unfortunately, the app is designed that way that you cannot get rid of SMSec if you haven't configured a recovery password or a Loss & Theft password.

If one of these things were activated you would have been able to either use the recovery password or send an 'unprotect' command to the device.

As both options are not defined, the only possibility would be to perform a factory reset of the device.
For this reason a warning is displayed when configuring the app protection and not enabling the recovery password.

What kind of password have you configured for the 'app protection'?
Were there any special characters in the password? If yes, which one?

    Thanks & regards

    Stefan
