SMSec synchronization overdue - Can I force a sync from the server?

Hi,

I've pushed out the auto enrol to our mobile devices (Apple & Android) instructing the users to scan the QR code which sets the device as managed. It then requires an initial SMSec sync - do I have to instruct the users to do this or can I force this from the central server?

Thanks

  • Hi

You can ask the users to open up Sophos Mobile Control and try to sync it manually or else wait for it to do it automatically. The Sophos Mobile Control iOS app should synchronize automatically after 24 hours. If it fails to synchronize automatically, this article should be followed.

As of now, it is not possible to trigger a sync of the iOS SMC app from the server as mentioned in this article.

  • Thanks, what I don't understand is (if everything is configured correctly) initially the devices are showing as  "Managed" and "Compliant" its then the device goes into uncompliant showing SMSec synchronization overdue.

So I then need to get the client to force a sync? As 24 hours have passed and the devices aren't automatically syncing.
