Unable to block words in domain using wildcard

Question

Anybody know how we can block a specific string from a domains sender. 
 
 E.g. *theword* I tried this but it doesn't work. Only *theword.com or *theword.ca or *.ca etc but not a specific string.

Hello there, 
 Thank you for contacting the Sophos Community. 
 I tried with the following Regex, and it caught the emails containing the word "theword" give it a try. 
 
 ^the word \s. * | . * \sthe word $ | . * \sthe word \s. * 
 
 Note: I am not an expert on Regex.
