SED Comms Error Count: 1 Process denied authorization for comms

Good Morning,

One of the applications we use in our organisation has started to be impacted by Sophos Endpoint Agent.

I have the following error inside the SED logs...

2022-08-24T09:25:56.232Z SED Comms Error Count: 1 Process denied authorization for comms: \DEVICE\MUP\SERVERNAME\PATHNAME\APPLICATION.EXE [16588:133058067414917445]

I have replaced the real path details pertaining to my environment with a generic description.

I have tried to exclude the application from being scanned by Sophos via a 'file or folder'.

I have tried to exclude the application from being scanned by Sophos via a 'process exclusion'.

I have tried to exclude the application from being scanned by Sophos via the allowed 'applications'.

If I log on to Sophos Central and turn off the 'remote files' scanning inside my policy, the program works.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Rowan

  • Hi ,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community. Would you be able to provide the list of exclusions that are currently in place? May we also request that you turn on the Remote Assistance function so we can review your settings?
Go to Account Details > Sophos Support > Turn on the Remote Assistance, and click Save.

You can also perform a component isolation to determine if there's a certain Sophos component that could be causing this, you'll find more details here.

If urgent assistance is needed, you may also open a support case through our Support Portal, or call your regional number listed under "For Critical Cases".
