Is there a description of how to install a replacement appliance in an XG cluster

There are nice articles and documentation about how to setup HA and transfer licenses etcetera, but what I'm missing is an explanation of how to handle when a replacement for an RMA'd appliance comes in, when the replaced machine had the subscription carrying serial number and when it was the subscription-less one in Active/Passive, and what to do in an Active/Active cluster.
