OK, So i've reinstalled SEC at a Site. I am currently still testing it out. I have used an install script to install 10.3 on the PC. The script is from KB13090
\\SERVER\SophosUpdate\CIDs\Sxxx\SAVSCFXP\Setup.exe -updp "\\SERVER\SophosUpdate\CIDs\Sxxx\SAVSCFXP" -user USER -pwd PWD -mng yes
Filled in correctly for our site.
It DOES install the client correctly, HURRAH!! :) So the Client is protected. When I look in it's updating log it shows it connecting to our server and upating from that. Fantastic.
BUT the problem is that the SEC Does not show the PC. The server is installed as Win 2008R2 it's a workgroup installation, just called workgroup. The PC is in the same subnet as the server. They can ping each other by hostname or ip address. But I cannot get SEC 5.3.1 to see the PC to add it to the list of PC's that it thinks it manages. There are 75 other older pc's that are all greyed out (due to being connected to an older non existent server) it can see and I need to sort them out via https://www.sophos.com/en-us/support/knowledgebase/116737.aspx I know... But I wanted to start with the clean new pc. I don't understand how it can be happily updating from the server but not show up on the SEC on the Server. I've searched via IP Address, Network Range. I'm stuck how do I get the SEC to show up this PC?
