Why does SAV stop working when I update the package with 'yum update'?

When you try to use yum or RPM to update the sav rpm install it breaks SAV.

when you run rpm -qil savinstpkg it will show it as being installed and that the only file in the rpm is a tgz file in /opt/sophos-av/. But the directory does not exist nor any other regular Sophos files in that directory.

    Sophos Support state that the RPM packages are not designed to be updated via yum. to update configuration the package has to be uninstalled and resintalled as a work around.
    The actual software gets updated automatically through other means and does not need yum/rpm to do that.
