Mac OS X Yosemite (10.10), SAV for Mac 9.1.8 and issue MACEP-318

Hi all,

anyone having issues with Macs running Mac OS X10.10 not updating after upgrading to SAV 9.1.7. Got a call from a user today and checking the few Yosemites I have found one on 9.1.8 already, one not reporting the version, five with 9.1.7 which apparently haven't updated after upgrading and one with 9.0.8 which is the only one reporting errors, to wit a Could not connect to Sophos AutoUpdate followed by an Updated successfully (which is obviously not correct) for each attempt (in this case 10 minute intervals). The Updated successfully suggests that the users won't notice anything wrong - the one calling only noticed because he did (for whatever reason) an Update now.

The Release Notes for (the Recommended) 9.1.8  list two Resolved issues, the first one is:

MACEP-318     Improved CID updating.

On-premise central installation directory (CID) updating for SAV OS X

now works with Mac OS X 10.10.

Huh? So it didn't work before - since when? The errors from the one with 9.0.8 seem to indicate what the user (with 9.1.7) is seeing (though his Macs don't report errors or successful updates).

I couldn't find any related articles. Even more important is the answer to the question how to get the endpoints to upgrade to 9.1.8 - looks like a Catch22.
