Red X --- not updating

I installed v.9 of Sophos Endpoint Security onto an XP machine and rebooted. A red X appears over the shield icon and I find I am not getting updates as required. Is there a known fix? A removal and re-installation just produced the same result.

Thanks ....

  • You college will have created a specific installation package what will have the username and password built-in. Please contact your college IT department for support.

On a general note a red cross as QC has advised is one of two things,

    1. The username/password are incorrect.

    2. The location you are trying to reach to get updates is not avaliable (connection issue)

Radboy please con you confirm if your update location is set to Sophos or another location.
