10.3 Update - hanging on shutdown

Hi,

Our ~120 devices - mix of Win7E Wyse TCs, Win7E HP TCs and Win7Pro PCs - are suffering ill effects from the latet update.

Most had an error message that update failed and restart was required, as viewed on the Sophos EC. When these devices were restarted many 'hung' during the "Shutting Down"  stage (for hours) and had to be manually turned off.

Many of the HP TCs were not able to log back into the domain due to a 'trust relationship' error that requires them to be disjoined/rejoined to the domain - this has been an ongoing issue w/the TCs and we've just turned off the Computer Password update feature using GPO. This MAY NOT BE related, but it's definetly  a PITA to fix.

This isn't the first time we'd had issues w/Sophos updates, but haven't had time in the past to fully investigate.

Anyone else seeing this and fixed it?

    can only generally comment on the Sophos part, not specifically on the TCs.

    Did the update fail because a reboot was required or was the Restart needed warning issued together with the update error? Anyway, Shutdown is not a special event as far as the Endpoint software is concerned. It doesn't delay until or schedule any actions for this point. All it does besides its scanning and communicating with SEC is invoking the installer when needed - but that shouldn't block a shutdown.

    issues w/Sophos updates

    Protection data updates, i.e. even just downloading and installing IDEs (which is done several times a day) or "only" with major updates? And how did/do you resolve them?
