Update For Sophos Endpoint Protection for Mac

Dear All,

This is my first post to Sophos forum because i'm still newbie. My company just recently change our endpoint protection to Sophos Endpoint, which is easier to manage. My question is, how i get Sophos update for Mac OS X which can not connect to company network? Any link for it and how to install it after downloaded?

Many thanks for answer and help...:smileyvery-happy:

  • Hello BlaxWalker,

how to get Sophos on those machine updated without connect to internet

I see - should have asked whether not to company network meant offsite or offline :smileyhappy:. You have two options:

    1. use the latest IDEs, copy the contents (the IDEs) of the zip file to /Library/Sophos Anti-Virus/IDE. Guess you have to restart the InterCheck process so it picks up the changes
    2. copy the contents of the CID (the ESCOSX folder) to a local folder of your choice (say /SophosUpdate) via some removable medium. Set this folder as update location of type Network volume and your copied folder as location e.g. file:///SophosUpdate/ESCOSX (or skip the second copy and set the address to the folder on the removable medium)

The first option is probably faster. The second has the advantage that it will also update the threat data library (roughly once per month, currently 4.98) and if necessary the software.
