Upgrading endpoint to 10.3 using Enterprise Console 4.7

Hello all

I'd like to know if endpoint 10.2 and 10.3 are compatible with Enterprise Console 4.7. It seems to me that they are not.

I'm looking into this for a client. They are happily running Enterprise Console 4.7 and Endpoint 9.7.9 (their subscription is 9.7 recommended).

They are now looking to upgrade their endpoints from 9.7.9. I have trialled the upgrade to 10.0 Recommended and this worked flawlessly. I did this by creating a new subscription for 10.0. No problems.

However when I try to do the same but for versions 10.2-10.3, I get problems. I create a subscription for 10.2 or 10.3 and the update manager just says "software delivery failed". Any attempt to create a subscription above 10.0 does not work. I have tried on various dev systems.

Is this because I am using Enterprise Console 4.7? Is there any way that 4.7 and 10.2 are compatible with each other? Is it MANDATORY for us upgrade from 4.7? We would like to get away without having to upgrade our current server from 4.7 (not least because there is a separate project in progress which in 6 months time will deliver us a completely new management server running Enterprise Console 5.1).

Appreciate input on this.

  • Sandy,

Thanks for the response. I have seen that document and will be make use of it later.

I presume that console version 4.7 will still work after the end of this month? i.e. The console will still be able to send out IDEs to Endpoints that are on version 10.0? Or are you saying that console 4.7 will completely refuse to update endpoints come the end of this month when it is retired?
