Email alerts for Virus/Spyware not working

Hi there! 

Windows Server 2008 Standard 32bit

Sophos Enterprise Console version 5.2.1

Sophos Clients 10.3

My email alerting for "Virus/Spyware detection and cleanup" does not work. We get alerts for all other types such as Adware and PUA detection so the SMTP is working properly. Needless to say this is crucial and needs to be working. The checkbox is obviously selected as you can see in the screenshot.

Any ideas?

    Hello Angoss,

    the components involved are the same. Do you get desktop alerts for virus/spyware (how did you test)? Could you post a detection's log entry (from SAV.txt)?
    Personally I think it is not as important as often assumed (that's not to say it doesn't have to work). Most of the theeats are properly dealt with before you even receive the mail so sooner or later you won't pay much attention (unless you either have a small installation or very few detections).
