Device Control Question

Hi,

i have a question regarding Sophos endpoint device control.

Here's the scenario

- i have a SEC Server which has mutiple Child SUM connected

- A userA with a USB flash drive device.

- device exemption configured (exemption) per group

Currenly UserA USb device is configured in a specific group/computer. However, UserA visits is a mobile and visit different branch office and connects his/her usb. but the problem is i need to configure his usb device everytime he connects it to a difference group/computer. Now, i want that userA USB device can be use/allowed in all groups/computers on the intire network. Can this be done?

Hello Apollo13,
with SEC policies apply to an endpoint, not a user. Thus if UserA works on different computers you'd have to configure this exemption for all applicable groups. Using the Event Viewer you can exempt a device for all policies. Anyway the exemption would then apply to all users on the computers in the affected groups.
