ldf file is huge - running out of disk space

I am running out of disk space and the Sophos45_log.ldf file is 23GB in size.

I've tried changing the recovery model to "simple" and "shrinking" but to no avail; the ldf is still 23GB.

What am I missing here?

How do I fix this?

If you have a recent backup (just to be safe) you can shrink the log right down with this..

In a command prompt:

sqlcmd -E -S .\sophos -d sophos45 dbcc shrinkfile (Sophos45_log, 10) go
