automatic installation

hello fellas,

I am new to this forum, a newbie using sophos av and forgive if I posted on a wrong section.

Curently we are using sec 5.2.1, i have 500 ws and 10 servers on my network. Just installed sec 5.2.1 on fresh installed 2003 server, 90% of my ws are already part of my domain and the res are workgroup.


How do I configure my SEC to automatically deploy protection to my workstations and servers? Is this possible?

    Hi Newbie,

    at least in our company the automatic installation with the Console did not work well. It requires you to change some AD Group Policies which was not easily possible for us.

    We have written a tool (couple of windows patch files) where you can enter the hosts to install and then the old av scanner is going to be removed (if you know the MSI string) and afterwards sophos is installed.

    This is all done via psexec :)
