Sophos control center 2.0.0 2362 Recognises Windows 7 Pro as Windows Vista

Hi all,

My first post.

I have a network with SopHop control Center running on the server. When I run "Protect new computers" login with the correct account and password the system scans the network for devices.

I have a number of Windows 7 Pro which are picked up but if I select one of them to distribute the anti-virus client to it, after a few seconds it display an error flag.

If I try to manually install from the device concerned the install process tells me that windows Vista is not supported even when the device's OD is windows 7.

Has anyone come across this and if so what is causing the problem?

Many thanks in advance.

Dereck

  • HI,

Firstly, SCC2 is a really old console version and not really supported: http://www.sophos.com/support/lifecycle/index.html

You have a couple of options as all SBS customers are now entitled to use Enterprise Console (you need to call your reseller/Support to sort out the upgrade).

The version as of now is Enterprise Console 5.1.  This will upgrade from SCC 4 but not from the version you are on.

    So you're options are:

    1. Upgrade SCC 2 to SCC 4 and then upgrade SCC4 to SEC 5.1.

    2. Uninstall and perform a fresh install of SEC 5.1

It really depends how much data you wish to preserve vs. the time you'll save just performing a fresh installation.

    Regards,

    Jak
