Update Manager Proxy settings not working with TMG

Hopefully someone can help, I've just taken over management of Sophos at a new job however they dont appear to receiving any updates, and havent received any for some months!

They use TMG here so need to enter proxy details into the update manager however when clicking Ok to save them it reports that proxy authentication failed.

Any suggestions on what to look at/try to get this fixed?

It looks like we are running a sligher older release of EC - 4.5.1 incase this helps.

Also on TMG both Integrated and Digest authentication are enabled and the user being used in the proxy config has access to the net normally.

  • Thanks for the suggestion Christian, that is on my list of things to do eventually, at least it seems Sophos should work ok with TMG. If anyone runs this in their environment it would be great to know if they had to do anything special to get it working ok as while Im not new to sysadmin'ing in general, I am new to both Sophos and TMG.

    And yeah, I couldn't belive no one had looked at this before I joined, it was a pretty big WTF moment when I looked and saw when the last update was successful!
