Taming Remote Office Updates in Sophos

Hello,

Right now we've got our Sophos server at our corporate office however we have 17 remote offices that are receiving updates from this server. What we're seeing is Network Congestion, particularly at our larger remote offices. What is the best way to mitigate this?

Is it possible to configure a local server at those offices to be the update server and have that server pull a single copy from our corporate server?

If that's not possible, could we configure the remotes to pull from the internet? That's not ideal because it's still going out over the WAN but it would at least route WAN-Internet as opposed to WAN-WAN (and only clog one WAN connection).

We're running an MPLS based WAN, are there traffic shaping rules that people have implemented to ease the pain? I don't think we want to limit ALL HTTPS traffic though just to get the updates behaving properly.

Any assistance or suggestions would be helpful.
