Computer Greyerd in Enterprise Console

Guys,

We currently have Sophos Enterprise Console installed on a Windows 2003 server.  We are planning on replacing it with a virtual Windows 2008 R2 64 bit server.

I have built the new server and installed the Enterprise Console (version 4.7.0.13).  I have built  a test Windows XP VM and have imported it in to the new console.  I also installed the Sophos Endpoint Security and Control client (version 9.7).

Unfortunately the computer is greyed out in the console and doesnt look likes its talking to the console at all.

Any help would be appreciated on this?

  • Hello peter79,

how did you install Sophos on the client - running setup.exe from the CID, a custom package or some other means (I assume you did not use Protect Computers)?

First thing to check is the Sophos Network Communications Report (from the Sophos program group) on the client - does it contain the correct parent and are there any errors? The ClientMRInit-yyyymmdd-hhmmss.log (in %windir%\temp) and the router logs (%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\Sophos\Remote Management System\3\Router\Logs ) might contain additional information.
