Sophos detects our Biometric Software as virus

as the name suggests and the analysis page details confirm this is a generic detection. The analysis summary lists send us a sample as the first option. Please have also a look at Sophos Anti-Virus: "false positives" and "unwanted detections" under section Malware detection . If the file is considered worth white listing it takes just a few hours to get an updated IDE and from then on it should be "safe".

If you know the file to be clean you could turn off scanning during install (or add the files on the exclusion list - from the policy editor, not the Quarantine manager).
