  • Hello kheiren,

the console (SEC) will not be automatically upgraded. To make use of all new features in  v10 you have to upgrade to SEC 5.x (you might want to wait for 5.1 to be released). As neither 9.7 nor 9.5 are soon to be retired but still in Extended Maintenance I assume that subscriptions to fixed versions will not be upgraded (@Sophos - is this correct?).

  • I'd like to know the answer to this as well.

We have some endpoints which CAN'T be upgraded automatically without affecting the user.  (24/7 locations, and the firewall upgrade drops the network connections for long enough to interfere with some of their software.)

I need to do whatever I can to keep us from getting 10.0 until we are ready to upgrade those workstations in a controlled fashion.

We are currently using a subscription using versions "9.7 Recommended" - will this upgrade us to 10 or not?  What if I set it to "9.7.7 VLD4.87G" - our latest?

Wost case is we have to turn off updates altogether once that forced upgrade goes live, but I wouldn't want to do that.

    Thanks in advance

  • Hello wellsm,

subscribing to a fixed version (preferably the latest) and unchecking the "automatically upgrade ...) should keep you at the current version (usable for three months but you can select a later version during this period). Recommended versions will upgrade.

  • Just to confirm, as long as I pick a non-recommended (or oldest, previou etc) version, the automatic update will not happen?

I am currently in the midst of migrating all of our estate to V10 and although I am a fair way through this, I cannot afford to have the remainder automatically update - Bandwidth restrictions and critical servers are in play here.

Secondly, Those items already on V10 will remain as such?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hello Mike O'B,

you should select one of the Extended Maintenance versions as noted in the link I've posted.

Secondly, Those items already on V10 will remain as such?

v10 subscriptions will not be affected
