New Ent Console, change clients update location

Hi my old Server where Enterprise Console installed is crashed permantely. I have installed Enteprise console on new server, But all the clients are still pointing to old server for updates. This new server has different name, different IP. Is there anything I can do beside going thoroug each PCs and uninstalling the Sophos Endpoint then pushing new installation from New Enterprise Console.

Help will be much appreciated.

  • HI,

Maybe you could try this HTA to get the management of the machines in the new console so you can send them new policies.

    /search?q= 8939

Essentially, copy the code, into a text file and save as reinit.hta on the new SEC server.

Browse to the new cac.pem and mrinit.conf files (enterprise console directory or in the udpating shares wil do)

    Generate a VBS file.
You then need to run the VBS file on the clients as an administrative user.

I would suggest trying it on a couple of clients just to check it works.

Then consider how you can deploy it on mass, maybe AD startup script for example?

    Hope it helps.

    Regards,

    Jak
