Unable to Scan Removable Storage infected with Deep Virus

Hi,

One of my Removable Storage disks is infected with a shortcut type of virus, wherein I'm not able to access any of my files.

I try to scan with Sophos and the scan stops midway with the first three files.

Hello Arjun768,
how do you scan the disk (right-clicking or custom scan)? Could you post the relevant lines from the log (SAV.txt) and/or a screenshot of the scan's pop up (if it exists)?

Hi Christian,
The Scan does run eventually, but it does not seem to be the solution.
The Removable storage still shows the files as shortcuts.
I used the sbav_10_sfx file, created a boot cd and tried cleaning up the system and the removable storage.
But the files still appear as shortcuts.

Does this mean that neither the "onboard" scan nor sbav detected anything? It's not clear (at least to me).

I always use this command from the dos prompt on the removable drive to make all files visible and accessible:
attrib -s -h -r /s /d
