Deleting large group of computers from SEC

When my client installed Sophos and SEC, they imported all computers from AD, including 3,000+ that no longer exist. Is there a way, given a listing (CSV file) of the computer names that they could be cleanly deleted from the console?

Is it as simple as setting the "Deleted" field in ComputersAndDeletedComputers to 1, or is there more to it than that?

TIA!
John

  • Hello John,

as you (or your client) are going to act on the database anyway it's probably better to DELETE the "excess" computers from the database. If the names are unique there shouldn't be a problem. Deleting from ComputersAndDeletedComputers will also trigger deletion of associated rows in other tables, BTW.
