This is a weird issue i have got - These are the details:
1) new EC 4.5 installation on Server A
2) New SQL 2008 installation on server B
Server A and Server B communicate and i can connect to the Sophos EC Console.
The problem - SUM gives me the error “Awaiting Configuration” and “Last Checked at : Never”.
The binaries have been downloaded and the issue is not due to any internet access issue. //sophosupdate is populated!
If I install the database on server A, everything works perfectly, including SUM., once I connect to the DB on Server B, the SUM error comes back up.
Have I done something wrong with the way SQL server has been installed? I repeat i can connect successfully to the console over a remote database. There are also no firewalls between any servers. SUM is failing for some reason! I followed the same procedure of how to split the database and Enterprise console as per sophos EC version 3.
The SUM service is also running on he EC as i managed to Telnet to via telnet localhost 51234
The SUM update log reports this:
“DDM:SCAPI threw an exception: Failed to connect to the SUM host: connection was refused”
