Up to date displays unknown after upgrade/move to new server

Hi, I have upgraded the Enterprise Console from version 3 to 4.5 on the old server, replaced EM Libraty with SUM (and upgraded the SQL Server to 2005 Express). I then moved the SEC/SUM to a new server (new identity, modified for 64bit as specified in the knowledge base article). I now experience the following: the managed clients are updating fine, at least the ones that I cheched manually but the Enterprise Console lists up to date as unknown. I have rebooted some of the clients but that doesn't seem to make a difference. Also, some of the newly deployed clients show up fine, some show up as downloading updates since hours. Any tips on how to get them to show up porperly? Thanks in advance!

  • Hello test12345,

if all clients have Unknown - is SAV already installed on the server?

some of the newly deployed clients

Newly deployed using Protect Computers? Are they XP or Win7? Any pattern?

  • Thanks for your reply, Christian! There is one newly deployed client that is the SEC/SUP server itself. OS is Windows Server 2008 R2 64bit. That one is reporting fine in the EC. Sophos AntiVirus has been installed on it (deployed through EC). Yes, using protected computers as per the migration guide (6.1.6 and 6.1.7). A lot of the clients are still awaiting policy transfer as well, about half of the affected ones.

  • Any ideas on how to tackle this problem? Thanks!

  • I expect that most of the problems "sort themselves out" after some time. It might be that there is a backlog in the RMS communication. You could check the Last message received for the clients which show Unknown. Are there many files in the Programdata\Sophos\Remote Management System\3\Router\Envelopes\ folder?

Form your post just now I assume there weren't any significant improvements?
