Tamper protection - Enabled but not allowed to edit on client

Hi Guys,

Wonder if anyone could help.

Recently upgraded to version 9.5 for EC and clients. I have enabled tamper protection on a test policy and put a few machines into this group. They have no sync'd with this policy but when I logon as a normal user, Im unable to select any of the options?

I assumed you would be able to authenticate as a user with the tamper password to allow users to play around with the services but it seems like I cannot do anything at the moment.

Do these normal, non IT/admin users need to be in a specific Active Directory group to allow them to see these options?

I cant even view the TP log....

Thanks,

Dann

  • Hello Dann,

Tamper Protection restricts SophosAdministrator member's rights (and impedes uninstalling by local admins). It is not designed to elevate the privileges of members of the other two Sophos groups.
