Unmanaged PC - Device Control Policy

Hi - we want to install SAV 10.2 on a PC off network using a standalone package (non EC connection, updates via Sophos direct) but we want to include device control policy in the package.   It is for a kiosk PC that we want to lock down the usb ports to.  Do you know if that's possible without checking back with the EC?   I don't see any options in the Deployment Packager User Guide for device/data control.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

  • Hello PhilE,

please see Using ExportConfig.exe to create XML configuration files how to include policies in the package (don't forget to run ConfigCID.exe as indicated at the bottom of the article). You don't have to create an extra "live" CID for this - just copy the SAVSCFXP folder to a convenient location, create the desired policies in SEC, export them (please note that while you can use arbitrary names for the output files you must the ones specified in the article when including them in the CID), run ConfigCID and use this CID as source for the packager.

Also note that you can't use Sophos as primary location.
