Using Sophos Competitor anti-virus removal tool to remove sophos??

Bit of a strange question this one....

We are currently in the process of deploying sophos av. One of our execs had a question about how easy it would be to uninstall sophos in the future. The sophos trainer mentioned something about using the competitor removal tool to uninstall sophos. Does anyone know if this is possible or how we would do it?

Basically one of our departments wont purchase licences until they know we could easily remove it like you can with mcafee. If they wanted to move away in the future.

Best Regards

  • I asked this question to support and the answer is local uninstalls only.

Coming from a Mcafee shop as well 4 and I beleive 4.5 does not have the uninstall like Mcafee did.  Their may be a script method but that may be on your own to figure out.  Certainly not as easy as McAfee is to uninstall and speaking of the third party uninstaller, I don't believe Mcafee has one like Sophos does.
