Console flicker

Before calling support I thought I should ask the esteemed community.

One of our servers manages some 2000 computers and the console (SEC) refreshes es in very short intervals (both local or remote console). This is noticeable - and annoying - in two areas:

  1. (right) click - a click or action select is ignored and you might have to click a second or third time 
  2. Creating a new group or policy is a tedious process, several attempts are needed to set the desired name (sometimes it refreshes before you can enter a single character)

Anyone else seen this?

    Hello Christian

    Press click in Dashboard icon to hide this. When the Dashboard refresh the window any action fail because the mouse pointer is moved out.

    This bug has been around since the beginning of time, I think its really bad it hasn't been fixed yet - I see the 'hide the dashboard' as a workaround, not a solution.

    Is/can this ever be fixed?

    D'accord - and I too want to see it fixed.

    Here on the board LINCK's reply is a solution to my problem (even if it's only a workaround) - give credit where credit is due :smileyhappy:.

    Hello,

    unfortunately I have to push this thread. I have installed EC on my Windows 7 computer and the console flicker drives me crazy.

    Without hiding the dashboard performing tasks in the EC is nearly not possible.

    Anyway: When will this be fixed? Maybe implementing a refresh button and the possibility to switch off the dashboard refresh would be a solution to the problem.

    BTW. its EC 5.0

    Nearly 2 years later (using 5.2) and this is still not fixed!?

    There are a couple of DWORD values that control the refresh of SEC:

    64-bit:

    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Sophos\EE\Sophos Enterprise Console\

    • ConsoleRefreshInterval
    • ConsoleForceRefreshInterval

    32-bit:

    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Sophos\EE\Sophos Enterprise Console\

    • ConsoleRefreshInterval
    • ConsoleForceRefreshInterval

    Could experiment with a few values for these.  I believe the values should be in milliseconds.
