Install on Mac OS X Mountain Lion

(Note to self: don't suggest the FreeTalk forum)

With the release of Mountain Lion there are now two standalone installers. According to Richard Baldry's post in the FreeTalk forum the installer has been changed to comply with the new Gatekeeper functionality.

On the installers pages it says: For new deployments of Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac in a networked environment, we recommend you use Sophos Enterprise Console. The question is, will installation from the CID work as before? As at some point in the past running the installer directly from the CID was not possible and also to make the package available for off-net users and those being in a segment where no SMB connection to the server is possible we zip up the Sophos Anti-Virus.mpkg and make the archive available on the web server. Thus the procedure for install is: download the .zip, unpack and click the .mpgk.

I've seen that the new standalone package has a different structure (and inside is Sophos Anti-Virus.pkg) and thus I'm not sure whether the hitherto existing approach will continue to work (I don't have to worry about 10.4 though).

I'm asking 'cause I don't have a Mac available for testing (let alone one with Mountain Lion) otherwise I would have already done so, the Upgrade to Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac, version 8 advisory doesn't address this question and I couldn't find an article in the knowledgebase.
