00000005 - Verification of update files failed. The files did not match the manifest.

Hi

I've started recieving the following message when trying to deploy Sophos to a new computer or a computer which I have had to uninstall Sophos from to reinstall: 00000005 - Verification of update files failed. The files did not match the manifest.

I've tried following the suggested steps in article 119137 but it still fails to install.

Existing clients appear to be updating correctly, it only seems to be new clients.

I have got an old Standalone installation which I created about a year ago and running that seems to install correct and update, however it doesn't appear in the console and I can't view the Network Communications Report on the client (but that might be my standalone installer)

Does anyone have any suggestions I can try to see if I can resolve this?

Thanks

  • Exactly same problem here. New clients won't install. Steps from the support article followed but no luck. It was working absolutely fine around 2 weeks ago and no changes to the EC server were made.

  • Just an update for everyone

Sophos have called me and said that they hope to have a fix release later today or early tomorrow, The engineer is going to call me with an update. You shouldn't have to do anything once the update is release, the Enterprise console will download the updated information. From that point on you should be able to install to a new device .

Edit.. Just ran an install and it installed! :D

  • I'll wait in hope then, ours still won't install and still has the SDDS-Import.xml file in the manifest. :( I have spotted that update manager has moved up to version 1.5.3.97 though...

Edit: And we're off again! It's now gone from the manifest and I can now install. :)
