We've been trying to resolve an issue where the sophos firewall has blocked all our network access to users and doesn't allow the users to log into their computers.
What we observed is that the users will try to log into their computers but just get a blank black screen with a mouse cursor. If we unplug the network cable then their desktops will come back up but when we replug the network cable and try to get to any resources, there is no connections being made.
If we disable the sophos firewall and allow all connections, it all works fine.
It isn't happening to everybody in our department but it is slowly spreading and maybe effecting 2 - 3 people per day.
Our servers have windows firewalls on them and the sophos client but not the sophos firewall software so my thoughts is there is something happening between windows firewall and sophos firewall.
I have a support call in to sophos but it's been 5 days now and no answers so I'm reaching out to the community now to see if anybody else may have run into this.
