Update has been failing for about 3 days now --

I have Sophos Endpoint Security and Control on a laptop that is loaded with Windows 8. For a couple of days now all of the automatic updates have been failing, and I have been unable to do a manual update because I cannot connect to the server. There is nothing wrong with my Internet connection. Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this without having to lug the laptop over to the nearest Staples store? Thanks.

  • Hello,

The key information will be in the log file of Sophos AutoUpdate:

    C:\ProgramData\Sophos\AutoUpdate\Logs\Alupdate.log

Could you attach the latest file based on the time stamp?

To reduce the size, feel free to delete all the "Alupdate.log" files in that directory and then perfrom an update, the next update will generate a new log that will just contain the logs from that last update.

    Regards,

    Jak
