Noisy firewall

We have some laptops with the standalone version of Sophos. The users say they’’’’re getting too many alerts from the firewall – is there a “silent” mode where rules are automatically created sensibly?

    what would sensibly be? If a firewall could be smart enough to create sensible rules on its own everyone would have one and we wouldn't need to configure it :smileytongue:. Seriously, if they are not running Windows 8.1 the Interactive mode allows a user (with sufficient rights) to create appropriate rules (potentially from predefined sets). Otherwise Allow by default allows "all"  outbound traffic (please see chapter 9.5.2 About the order in which rules are applied in the Sophos Endpoint Security and Control Help).
