How to enable Sophos Endpoint Security and Control

I restored my Windows 7 system to a previous point after an application had failed to install. The system restore was successful, but Sophos is now not working.

It updates successfully, and it can perfectly well, but in the status box it says "On-access scanning: disabled". All features of Anti-virus and HIPS are disabled, Tamper protection is disabled, updating is enabled. 

How do I enable the Anti-virus and HIPS, and tamper protection? Everything is disabled. Even the Configure menu from the top bar is all disabled, except for configure updates.

    All features of Anti-virus and HIPS are disabled, Tamper protection is disabled, updating is enabled

    it looks like this when the Sophos Anti-Virus service (SavService.exe) is not running. please try to start it, if it fails check the Event log.
