How to install updates of SOPHOS ENDPOINT USER AND SECURITY CONTROL VER 10.3 Offline

Hi All,

I have SOPHOS ENDPOINT and SECURITY CONTROL VER 10.3 installed on Windows 7 64 bit machine. Can anyone please guide me how to install the virus definitions or updates offline. This machine can not be connected to internet due to protection reasons.

Regards,

mhs

  • Hello mhs,

for just updating the definitions you can download the latest IDEs, extract them to a removable drive, stop SAVService on the unconnected machine, copy the IDEs to the \Sophos\Sophos Anti-Virus\ program folder and restart the service.

As Threat identity (IDE) files: overview recommends, you should regularly update the product. You might use the same procedure for updating the definitions: Copy the CID (the SAVSCFXP folder) from the appropriate subscription to a removable medium. Configure AutoUpdate (if you've installed a "managed" package please see How to edit the updating configuration of a managed endpoint) on the unconnected  machine to update from either a local folder (where you copy the contents of the CID to) or the SAVSCFXP folder on the removable medium (i.e. the path must point to the folder which contains the root.upd file) and request an update.
